Proprietor: Mrs Madaleine Sweker. The Arosa has been trading for 25 years and we’re open all year including Christmas Day. We regularly welcome guests from the UK and all around the world. Reception telephone is attended from 08.00 am to 10.00 pm, every day. The building is centrally heated throughout with thermostatically controlled radiators. It is also predominantly double glazed and carpeted throughout. The building was erected during the Edwardian period and is situated within Bexhill’s conservation area. As we are in the centre of town, the shopping centre and all areas of the town are quick and easy to reach. The Arosa is accessed from Albert Road which is a one way street (north to south). The town centre and all surrounding areas are fully paved on both sides of the road which is flat and level with no gradients or inclines. The entrance to the building has two stone steps, a short mosaic tiled path and another low step at the wide front door/entrance which leads into a spacious, carpeted hallway. The hallway provides access to all downstairs rooms. (A door bell button is located on the R.H side of the front door aperture). Cellular telephone reception is usually good. Although generally pets cannot be accommodated, we accept guide dogs or hearing helper dogs. We endeavour to be as flexible as possible to accommodate and assist our guests. We are 150 yards from the sea front. Visitors by car: Overnight car parking in Albert Road is generally not a problem. However, Rother Council have a 2 hour (daytime) parking restriction from Monday to Saturday which is in force from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm. Alternative car parking is available at the De La Warr Pavilion (approx 100 yards away) on the sea front. Also, free car parking spaces may also be found along the sea front or adjacent roads. Visitors by rail: Bexhill on Sea railway station is approximately 2 minutes walk on flat, paved ground. Alternatively, taxis are usually parked “on rank” outside the station. We are approximately 300 yards from Bexhill rail station. Bus services: Buses to Hastings, Eastbourne and all other surrounding areas are within easy reach. Bus stops are situated very close to us and can be found in Sackville Road, Devonshire Road and along the sea front. Cyclists: Cyclists are welcome and bikes may be safely stored at the rear of the premises. Taxis: Numerous taxi services are available in the town and various telephone numbers are displayed in reception. Additionally, Parkhurst Taxi Company are located about 30 yards from our establishment in Parkhurst Road. Arrival time: Check in: 12.00 noon until 10.00 pm (22.00 hrs). Once registered, room keys and front door keys are provided for guests convenience. Check out time: Keys to be returned to reception by 10.00 am – on the day of your departure. Property overview: The property is arranged over 3 floors and access to all upper levels are gained by use of a wide Edwardian staircase. (Due to the construction, layout of the building and UK planning legislation it is unfortunately not possible to fit a lift or provide ramped access). Also, there is no downstairs w.c for general use. Fire/smoke detectors are located throughout the building and connected to an audible fire alarm. Fire extinguishers and fire alarm buttons are located on all floors in a convenient position. All fire equipment is periodically tested and checked and routine maintenance carried out in accordance with the regulatory body. A regulation fire door (which must not be propped open) is located at the top of the staircase on the top floor. In accordance with UK law, all fire procedures are prominently displayed in all rooms and throughout the premises. A welcome card and information sheet is also displayed in the rooms for the help and guidance of the guests. Additional leaflets, guides, timetables and general local information can be found in the lounge and reception area. Alternatively, during service hours, guests can ring the reception bell for help or information. All public thoroughfare areas are lit 24 hrs.
